I am a Professor at the University of New Mexico (UNM), with a joint appointment in the Department of Economics and the Center on Alcohol, Substance use, And Addictions (CASAA). My research examines the intersection of economics, crime, and substance use disorders. At the UNM IMPOWR Center, I lead the economic evaluation team across the primary research projects. Our evaluation team is responsible for calculating the cost of providing treatment for comorbid chronic pain and opioid use disorders and estimating the economic and societal benefits associated with treatment.
