Postdoctoral Fellowship Opportunities:

The Center on Alcohol, Substance use, And Addictions at the University of New Mexico (UNM) has two postdoctoral research opportunities on a newly awarded Center grant examining effectiveness, mechanisms, and implementation of integrated psychosocial treatments for chronic pain and opioid use disorder. The UNM Integrative Management of chronic Pain and Opioid use disorder for Whole Recovery (IMPOWR) Center will take an integrated and holistic approach to improving the lives of patients with chronic pain and opioid use disorder via tailored intervention approaches to meet the needs of diverse individuals in diverse communities. Our goals are to develop, test, and implement scalable, generalizable, and sustainable provider- and patient-level interventions that are focused on improving functioning and can be delivered in diverse health care settings using community-based participatory research approaches.

Each postdoctoral researcher will be tightly integrated into various UNM IMPOWR Center activities, with a strong emphasize on promoting and increasing diversity, and providing support to postdoctoral researchers in developing independent research careers as part of the UNM IMPOWR Center. Postdoctoral researchers will assist with recruitment, enrollment, retention, methodological development, data analysis, publications, and dissemination efforts for all projects. The UNM IMPOWR Center provides a NIH-defined stipend (based on years since doctoral degree), reimbursement for health insurance, support for professional travel, and support for training- and research-related expenses.

Interested applicants should submit a curriculum vitae and a 1-2 page cover letter that addresses their qualifications for and interest in a postdoctoral research position to Katie Witkiewitz, Ph.D., katiew@unm.edu. Applications received by December 15, 2022 will be given best consideration.
