Role: Pilot Investigator and Diversity Supplement Awardee

I am a Research Assistant Professor at the University of New Mexico’s Center on Alcohol, Substance use, And Addictions (CASAA). I am currently conducting a study as part of the IMPOWR pilot core and an IMPOWR Diversity Supplement. I completed my clinical psychology graduate training at the University of Washington in the Center for the Study of Health and Risk Behavior (CSHRB). I am currently the director of the Texting Experiments Team (TExT Lab) where we study the development and implementation of digital health interventions for addictive behaviors with an emphasis on mindfulness-based interventions. We also use advanced quantitative approaches (e.g., artificial intelligence/machine learning) to identify predictors of behavior change and to incorporate a precision medicine approach to our intervention development. I am excited to be a part of the important work being conducted by the IMPOWR Team at CASAA.
